Find a measuring tool Use a soft tape, rope or even your charging cable. Place it against a ruler to measure.

Measure your head Wrap it around your head, position it mid-forehead and above the eyebrows and ears.

So far so good!

I’m a gravel bike rider mixed road and trail but wanted more visibility on busy roads. On this basis I wasn’t sure about the Lumos ebike helmet which seems targeted primarily at commuters but I liked the additional functionality it provided. Having researched many of the competitors Lumos won on the combination of price and quality. I was slightly worried about some of the early reviews but in all fairness the initial technical teething troubles appear to have been addressed by the company and my helmet has been operating perfectly for several weeks. I particularly like the ability to bespoke the settings to suit my riding needs and achieve the optimum balance of visibility/safety and battery duration. In summary, an excellent product which I highly recommend although time is the greatest test of course!

Lumos ULTRA MIPS Ebike.
Use it with winter liner and an e-scooter in cold Europe and it works great! I like the windshield for my eyes, it holds away the icy wind!

Lumos for commuting

Helmet fit was just ok as a medium size so perhaps err on the smaller size if you’re not sure. Helmet warmth was superb, especially with a winter liner (again the medium liner is on the larger size IMO). Visor is a massive benefit in cold or wet weather as it deflects a lot from your face. Wind noise reduction with the winter liner is a huge advantage and very effective. On those points alone it is worth the money. Factor in the lights and indicators then it’s a game changer! It really needs lights putting on before you wear the helmet as almost impossible to do when wearing the helmet with gloves on. Raised on/off button would make it easier. Fidlock chin strap is fiddly at first but you get used to it. 9 out of 10 rating for me.
