Detailed: I backed this helmet since it was in kickstarter, upgraded with fireflies and recently crashed so I got a new one. The helmet itself looks really nice, and has a good amount of venting in my opinion. It’s comfortable, the adjustment is quick and easy, and the chin strap works well. You might need to put a little tape on the chin strap to prevent it from loosening slowly but that’s the only issue I’ve had. The finish and look is great, the only point is that it’s of course just plastic so it scratches easy, be gentle with it. For safety, I highly recommend MIPS, it integrates flawlessly, and it certainly protected me well in my crash, it’s a small investment for what could be a huge upside. For functionality the lighting works amazing, I used this with the helmet alone for a while and it works great. I recommend a slow flash on the lights as it lets you go bright and stay visible, while maximizing battery life, I try to charge it once a week or so and I can’t remember the last time the battery actually died. Unfortunately repairability seriously concerns me, you’d @have a hard time ever changing this battery, so it may be dead weight in a few years. It can get expensive if you add the fireflies and the whole system, but the helmet is great value for what you get.
Got this to commute with since I often feel drivers don’t always notice me. I love that it has a mips option and that it’s a 4 star rated helmet from Virginia Tech! The lights were easy to pair with the remote and my app and Apple Watch. Looking forward to trying it out!
The best helmet, really easy and practical. The lights are very bright and got different modes. Buy with no hassle, best customer service by Ann Dominic. She has sent me a brand new helmet for free because I had an issue with my other helmet. The new one works perfectly amazing. I am very happy that I bought Lumos helmet, they understand how to take care of the customers. I will be loyal to this company because they cared about my request.
I love my helmet, had it for almost a year when the front light would only come on dime. We emailed back and forth many times to make sure it was the helmet and not me .they said they would send me a new one. I give them full stars for customer service. Ron
The helmet charging light does not work I ordered 2 Ultra and they seem different The redone comes in an Ultra box but the white/ blue one is in a plain box The indicator has a li battery while the red helmet is a contact charger But otherwise helmets are great
