I remember the kickstarter and was thrilled to see it come to reality on the bigger market. I usually spend around at most $80 on a helmet in the past. But splurging with this one was well worth it. Fits like no other helmet I’ve owned. Made really well. Easy to use. The lights are and features are incredible. I got the MiPS version and feel even more comfortable and safe. The improved battery life is significant. It eliminates the need to carry and charge the helmet for all rides longer than 2 hours. The handlebar left/right remote has not needed to be recharged since I’ve received it. The older remote signal device required weekly recharging. Nice change!!!!!!! Actual light visibility changes are hard to determine.Thank you for the upgrades. I’m a very serious 71 year old biking enthusiast. Your upgrades and changes to your products are exciting as well as comforting to me. I’m on an 8k goal this year.

May have saved my life!
I had an accident on my bicycle a few weeks ago and ended up with a punctured lung, five broken ribs, assorted scrapes and bruises and a chunk missing from my Lumos helmet. But my head was unharmed - no injury to my head whatsoever. I bought the MIPS version, and I think that my be why my neck didn't even hurt the next day.Thank you, Lumos, for this excellent product. It did its job brilliantly and I will be replacing it with another Lumos helmet.

The ultra upgrade!

I've been using the Lumos Ultra paired with the Firefly Mini for about two weeks now, and it's been fantastic. The whole setup is super straightforward — from the initial install to the well-designed mobile app. The pairing between helmet and lights works seamlessly, and being able to turn all the lights off at once? Amazing. The magnetic mounts? Also amazing. Visibility overall? You guessed it — amazing!

I've been riding around Toronto and have already gotten compliments from motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians. I even ordered extra mounts so I can replicate the setup on my cargo bike. The remote is a great addition too — love the turn signal feature.

If I had to nitpick, the only downside is the automatic brake light feature. In Toronto (aka “Pothole City”), it’s hard to get the remote to distinguish between actual braking and sudden jolts from bumps. But honestly, that’s more of a Toronto problem than a Lumos one. 😂

I’ve already been recommending Lumos to all my cyclist friends. You can never be too visible — but it’s important to be considerate too. I really appreciate that Lumos lights are bright enough to alert, not blind. Safety and kindness go hand in hand.

Lumos MIPS Helmet S/M

Very happy with my purchase. I replaced an older version from 2016. This ticks all the boxes. It's great there are now two sizes. The S/M is a better fit for me. The delivery time was very speedy and seamless. Wouldn't be without it! Totally recommend these helmets to anyone who needs to ride in darkness

The best thing I bought for my bike

This is definitely one of the best items I have bought for riding my bike in a very long time. After a near miss in a traffic circle, I realized I was not getting seen. Now with all the lights on my helmet, I feel much safer!
